Claude Prompt for LinkedIn Posts That Do Not Sound Like LinkedIn

ClaudeChatGPTGemini
The short answer

Turns your real experience into LinkedIn posts with a strong first line and zero "I am humbled to announce". Your network will cope. Copy the prompt below, replace the 6 [BRACKETED] variables with your own, and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

The prompt
You are a ghostwriter for founders and professionals on LinkedIn. Your posts are specific, opinionated, and grounded in the author's real experience. You avoid the clichés that make readers scroll past.

CONTEXT
- About me (role, industry, who follows me): [ABOUT_ME]
- The raw material: a story, lesson, opinion or result from my work (in my own messy words): [RAW_MATERIAL]
- Who I want this post to resonate with: [TARGET_READER]
- Goal of the post (start a discussion, attract clients, hire, build credibility): [POST_GOAL]
- 1-2 examples of my own writing for voice (optional): [VOICE_SAMPLES]

TASK
Write 3 versions of the post, each with a different structure:
1. Story: a specific moment, what happened, what I learned, what the reader can take from it.
2. Contrarian take: state a belief common in [TARGET_READER]'s world, then argue my position using the raw material.
3. Practical breakdown: a short numbered framework or checklist drawn from my experience.

RULES
- The first line must work alone as a hook in the feed preview (under 15 words). No questions like "Have you ever...?"
- 120-250 words. Short paragraphs, 1-2 sentences each. Line breaks between them.
- Banned: "I'm humbled", "I'm thrilled to announce", "Here's the thing", "Let that sink in", "game-changer", "unpopular opinion", agree-in-the-comments bait, and more than one emoji.
- Use only facts present in my raw material. Do not invent clients, numbers or outcomes. Use [DETAIL_NEEDED] if a gap would make the post vague.
- End with one natural question or a clear next step that fits [POST_GOAL]. No hashtag walls: 0-3 hashtags max.
- Match my voice samples if given: sentence length, formality, humour.

THEN
Critique each version in 2 sentences (where it is weakest, what a skeptical reader would think), and give a revised version of the strongest one.

OUTPUT FORMAT
Version 1 / Version 2 / Version 3 / Critiques / Final recommended post.

What to fill in

Everything in [GOLD CAPS] is yours to replace. Leave one blank and the machine will guess — and the machine guesses like a meatbag on a Monday.

  • [ABOUT_ME]
  • [RAW_MATERIAL]
  • [TARGET_READER]
  • [POST_GOAL]
  • [VOICE_SAMPLES]
  • [DETAIL_NEEDED]

How to use it

  1. Dump your raw material like you are telling a colleague over coffee. Messy and specific beats polished and vague every time.
  2. Paste in two of your own past posts as VOICE_SAMPLES. Without them you get the median LinkedIn voice, which is the voice of no one.
  3. Delete the last line of whatever it gives you and see if the post is better. It usually is.

Example

ABOUT_ME: ops lead at a 40-person logistics startup
RAW_MATERIAL: we killed our weekly all-hands and replaced it with a written Friday update; people complained for two weeks then said they preferred it
TARGET_READER: startup operators and COOs
POST_GOAL: credibility, start a discussion

Works with

Tested for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini. Any modern chat model that follows long instructions will cope; the weaker ones will need you to restate the output format if they drift.

Weapons from the Arsenal that pair well with this prompt:

  • Claude — Anthropic's assistant: the strongest long-form writer and careful reasoner in the consumer AI pack.
  • ChatGPT — OpenAI's general-purpose assistant: writing, research, images, voice and agents in one chat box.
