AI gig pay tracker: who's hiring today, and at what rate

Live Updated Oct 17, 2026 · 13 platforms tracked

Right now the platforms below list 6,596 open roles. Mercor lists 294 at a median posted $60–100 an hour. Rates move by project, and the platform paying most for your field this week may not be the one you joined.

The short answer

This page shows what AI training platforms are posting right now: open roles, the hourly rate in each listing and the ranges they advertise, each with its source and the date we saw it. A posted rate is not what you'll earn: you're paid only for hours you work, and hours aren't guaranteed.

Platforms change rates project by project and rarely announce it. If you only watch one platform, you won't see that another is posting more roles at a higher rate this week. This tracker reads their public job boards on a schedule and shows what changed since the last update. Find the platform posting for your field, then apply there first.

Median posted hourly pay

The median low-to-high rate across each platform's listings that state one. Platforms with fewer than 20 priced listings are left out here; they're in the table.

  1. Mercor$60–100/hr
  2. micro1$52.50–100/hr
  3. Alignerr$35–80/hr
  4. DataAnnotationup to $125/hr
  5. Handshake AIup to $80/hr

Gold: the median posted range. Outlined: only a top rate is posted ("up to"). Scale: $0 to $125 an hour. Posted rates, not earnings.

"—" means we couldn't read a figure on that update, not zero. Posted pay covers only listings that state a rate. In the change column, volt means more open roles, magenta fewer.

Mercorwork.mercor.com

Listings come from the public work.mercor.com/explore page data. Mercor does not advertise a headline rate. Its Ashby board (api.ashbyhq.com/.../mercor) is staff hiring, not expert work, so it is not counted.

micro1micro1.ai

Expert roles from the public job-portal JSON that micro1.ai/experts/opportunities loads for logged-out visitors (a read-only POST query). Pay is the posted "ideal hourly rate"; currency assumed USD as shown on the site. No headline rate advertised.

Human Frontier Collective (Scale AI)job-boards.greenhouse.io

Scale AI's expert fellowship, posted on the Scale Greenhouse board (filtered to Human Frontier Collective and Subject Matter Expert roles). Most postings state no pay; figures come from posting text.

Remotasksremotasks.com

Scale AI brand. Tasker roles posted on its Greenhouse board (staff roles such as community managers excluded); pay read from the posting text. The homepage shows no rates.

Remotasks review: acceptance, payment and complaints →

Outlieroutlier.ai

FAQ says only "rates vary by expertise, project complexity, and location"; no figure published. The opportunities board (app.outlier.ai/opportunities) loads from an internal API that needs a session/CSRF token, so there is no public role feed.

Outlier review: acceptance, payment and complaints →

Turingturing.com

No public pay figure. turing.com/jobs pages are evergreen SEO pages without rates; Turing's Greenhouse board (boards-api.greenhouse.io/v1/boards/turing) is staff hiring with no posted pay. Contractor roles sit behind a login.

Turing review: acceptance, payment and complaints →

Invisible Technologiesinvisibletech.ai

invisible.co redirects to invisibletech.ai. The join-us page loads roles with JavaScript and shows no pay; its Greenhouse boards (invisibletech, invisible) are staff roles without posted pay. A /compensation-and-pay-tiers page exists but robots.txt asks crawlers to skip it, so it is not read.

Invisible Technologies review: acceptance, payment and complaints →

TELUS Digital AI Communitytelusdigital.com

Skipped: HTTP 403 (telusdigital.com answers 403 to non-browser clients, robots.txt included; a bot wall). No public pay or role feed reachable.

Prolificprolific.com

  • $8+/hr Study minimum · source, seen Oct 17, 2026
  • $12+/hr Recommended to researchers · source, seen Oct 17, 2026

Pay floor that Prolific enforces on researchers (studies, not AI tasks). Studies are only visible to logged-in participants; its Greenhouse board is staff hiring.

Kledkled.ai

Pays per upload of photos, video and documents inside its app; no rates or role feed published on the website.

How we collect this

Our system reads each platform's public careers board and job feeds (no logins, no applications) and records every open role, the hourly rate when the listing states one, and the platform's own advertised pay ranges with the page they came from. "Posted pay" is the median of the low and high ends across listings that show a rate; "top posted" is the highest rate listed. Each update is compared with the last one.

  • These are posted rates, not earnings. You're paid for hours you actually work, and many platforms have no guaranteed hours.
  • Listings are a snapshot. Roles open and close daily, and some platforms post one listing for many projects.
  • Pay depends on you. Rates are set by skill, project and often country. Expert roles (law, medicine, coding, STEM PhDs) pull the top end up.

FAQ

How often is the pay tracker updated?

Each update re-reads every platform's public job listings and advertised pay. The date at the top shows the latest run, and each row shows when that figure was seen.

Why do some platforms show no open roles?

Some platforms don't publish individual listings (you apply once and get matched to projects), so we can only show their advertised ranges. A dash means no reading, not zero.

Is posted pay what I'll earn?

No. It's the rate in the listing. You're paid for hours or tasks you actually complete, work isn't guaranteed, and rates often depend on your country and qualifications.
