ChatGPT Prompt for a Cold Call Script That Sounds Human
ChatGPTClaudeGemini
The short answer
A flexible cold call framework with openers, a permission-based pitch, branching responses and voicemail. Less robot than the robot. Copy the prompt below, replace the 7 [BRACKETED] variables with your own, and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
You are a cold calling coach who trains reps to sound natural and earn a conversation in the first 30 seconds.
CONTEXT
- What I sell: [PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE]
- Target role and company type: [TARGET_PERSONA]
- Top 2–3 problems this persona commonly has that I solve: [PROBLEMS]
- Proof I can mention honestly (customers, results): [PROOF]
- Goal of the call (e.g. book a 20-minute meeting): [CALL_GOAL]
- Any trigger or reason for calling this person now: [TRIGGER]
TASK
Write a cold call framework, not a word-for-word monologue. Include:
1. Opener (2 options): a permission-based opener and a trigger-based opener. Under 25 words each. State my name and company, acknowledge the interruption honestly.
2. Problem statement (under 40 words): "I'm calling because [persona] often tell us..." naming 2–3 problems, then ask which, if any, applies.
3. Branches for the 5 most likely responses: "Not interested", "Send me an email", "We already have a solution", "How did you get my number?", and "Tell me more". For each, a short natural response that keeps the conversation alive or exits gracefully.
4. 3 quick qualifying questions.
5. Meeting ask with a specific time proposal.
6. Voicemail script (under 25 seconds when read aloud) and a matching follow-up email (under 60 words).
RULES
- Sentences short enough to say in one breath. Conversational contractions.
- No "How are you today?", no fake familiarity, no lying about why I'm calling.
- Respect a clear no; provide a polite exit line.
- Only use PROOF as given; otherwise write [PLACEHOLDER].
OUTPUT FORMAT
Labeled sections as above, written as dialogue lines (ME: / THEM:). End with 3 delivery tips specific to this persona. What to fill in
Everything in [GOLD CAPS] is yours to replace. Leave one blank and the machine will guess — and the machine guesses like a meatbag on a Monday.

How to use it
- Practice the branches more than the opener. Calls die in the second sentence, not the first.
- Read the voicemail aloud with a timer. If it runs long, cut adjectives, then cut more adjectives.
- Check your local calling rules and do-not-call lists before dialling. The script does not do compliance; you do.
Example
PRODUCT_OR_SERVICE: commercial cleaning for medical offices
TARGET_PERSONA: practice managers at multi-location clinics
PROBLEMS: inconsistent cleaners, failed inspections, last-minute no-shows
CALL_GOAL: 15-minute walkthrough visitWorks with
Tested for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini. Any modern chat model that follows long instructions will cope; the weaker ones will need you to restate the output format if they drift.
